Vojin G. Oklobdzija
(Voyeen O-klob-ja), PhD, Fellow IEEE
Dr.
Oklobdzija has 40 years of experience in electronics, computers and
semi-conductor industry. He has worked on early RISC computer and
super-scalar computer development at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in
New York, where he made pioneering contributions. His fundamental patent
on register-renaming enabled the entire new generation of modern
processors used today. He consulted extensively for all the major
high-tech companies nationally and internationally his clients including:
Intel, Texas Instruments, AT&T Bell Labs, Hitachi, Fujitsu, SONY, Siemens
/ Infineon, Sun Microsystems and Samsung. Prof. Oklobdzija academic career
includes: visiting IBM faculty position at the University of California
Berkeley, professor / emeritus professor at the University of California
Davis, Computer Engineering Chair Professor at Sydney University,
Australia, Professor / Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas.
Currently Prof. Oklobdzija is serving as Department Head and Chair
Professor at New Mexico State University.
Dr. Oklobdzija consulted and testified in numerous
intellectual property cases working for major law firms in San Francisco
Bay Area as well as nationally in cases involving: microprocessor
architecture, design, fabrication, reverse engineering, digital circuits
and devices. Dr. Oklobdzija resides in Texas and California where he has
well equipped product reverse engineering laboratory with advanced
capabilities. Dr. Oklobdzija is a skilled testifying expert who can handle
pressure very well and who understands the process. He has superb ability
for rigorous definitions in claim term construction process. He has people
skills and works well with others.
Prof. Oklobdzija is Fellow of IEEE and Vice President of
Technical Activities of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, and IEEE
Distinguished Lecturer. He has authored and edited six books in Computer
Engineering area and has contributed dozen book chapters on the same
subject. He is holder of 15 US patents on microprocessor design and has
published in the order of 200 papers.
